Multi Use Games Areas are a popular choice for schools.
This was a project we at Bingham ground services completed for a Primary School in Cumbria. All play surfacing is supplied by a UK firm & come complete with a full warranty.
Their current sports area was just a grass field with paint markings, which became unusable in the winter, due to a high water table making it a muddy mess.
They specified they wanted a fully usable area all year round, even when the rest of the field was untouchable, but the school was tight for space for multiple pitches. This bespoke sized, multi-use sports area was a perfect fit for them!
We started the project by digging out the current sports area and landscaping the soil, to create banks around the new sports pitch. We also removed several tonnes of the soil from site, which was no longer needed.
The installation of a strong and dynamic sub base and suitable drainage was crucial for this job, to ensure the area remained usable all year round.
The project was finished off by laying and securing a bespoke multi sports surface and fully enclosing in fencing. The newly fitted surface will provide the school with a durable all year round surface, for many years to come!
