Norwich School Cricket Revamp!
Established in 1096, Norwich School is one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in England. Situated within the picturesque grounds of Norwich Cathedral, this independent day school provides a unique and inspiring environment for its students. Recently, the school sought to upgrade its indoor cricket facilities.
The existing top surface of the cricket lanes was worn and uneven, making it difficult for students to practice effectively. We then began by removing the old, damaged surfacing and installing a shockpad across the entire length and width of the facility. This shockpad serves as a foundation that enhances the playing surface’s consistency, providing a more realistic level of pace and bounce for the players.
The next step in the transformation involved laying down the new cricket surface. They chose Notts Sports Grass Ultra, a cricket surface known for its durability and performance. This quality sports surface was installed over the shockpad, with one of the lanes featuring in-laid coaching lines to assist in player training and development. The result is a practice facility that offers a consistent and reliable playing experience, crucial for the growth and skill advancement of cricketers at Norwich School.
